Pac., 125, 17-24 (2013)> =2013PASP..125...17W ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Binaries, eclipsing ; Photometry, UBV Keywords: stars Abstract: RU Eri is a near-contact eclipsing binary (V 9.24mag) with a 0.632-day orbital period. The Wilson-Devinney program is used to simultaneously solve new UBV light curves obtained between 1973 and 1981 at the Fernbank Science Center Observatory, together with existing single-lined radial velocity measurements. Light and velocity solution parameters, orbital elements, and absolute dimensions are presented. A period of 0.632198836+/-0.000000046d is found. Description: The photometric measurements of RU Eri (HD 24658, BD-15 686, SAO 149243) were obtained with the 90-cm Cassegrain reflector at the Fernbank Science Center (Atlanta, GA) between 1973 and 1981. More than 570 observations were made in each of the U, B and V bands with an unrefrigerated EMI 6256s photomultiplier.
