Beginning of ReadMe : VII/199 Surface Photometries of the Milky Way (Schlosser+ 1997) ================================================================================ Collection of major Surface Photometries of the Milky Way in the visible/ near-visible spectral domain Schlosser W., Hovest W. <A&AS 128, 417 (1998)> =1998A&AS..128..417H ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Milky Way ; Photometry, surface ; Photometry, infrared ; Photometry, UBVRI Keywords: galaxy (the): structure of - photometry Description: The surface brightness of the Milky Way (radiated power per unit of solid angle and per unit of wavelength) is presented for many spectral regions in the visible and near-visible domain. The catalogue contains all existing photometries, as far as they cover a major part of the circumference of our Galaxy. It should be noted that this catalogue is continuously being expanded. The actual state of the catalogue is contained in Table 1 of this description, and in the File Summary below. In Table 2, the Bochum photometries 1-4 are compared to photometries of other authors employing approximately the same passbands. Table 3 facilitates the conversion of classical S10-units into physical fluxes. NOTE: the B- and V-Photometries will be available in May 1998.
