BDA offers also the possibility of performing selections on cluster parameters such as distance, reddening, age, diameter and equatorial or galactic coordinates, on the basis of the results catalogued by Lyngå. The command name is ocl. The output is sorted by increasing order of the selected parameters.
> ocl list the whole file, page by page.
> ocl Berkeley list the Berkeley clusters
> ocl d -lt 500 select clusters nearer than 500 pc, and displays a list sorted by increasing distance.
> ocl l -i 0 90 select clusters with galactic
coordinates between 0 and 90
degrees.
> ocl lb -i 0 30 -5 5 select clusters according to the
conditions: 0 < l < 30
, -5
< b < +5
> ocl -t d list the whole catalogue, sorted by increasing distance
The permitted options are: -gt -lt -i, arguments are from the following list:
alf dec ad right ascension and declination, or both.
l b lb galactic coordinates or both,
z distance from the galactic plane,
d distance in pc,
m-M distance modulus,
ebv colour excess E(B-V),
t log of the age,
D cluster apparent diameter
