BDA is the access path to the root directory of the database
bda/
SRC is the number of elements of that path to ngc, ic or anon
OCL is the number of elements to the cluster name
CUT is the number of characters of the path until bda/.
The data for NGC 2287 are located in the directory: bda/ngc/2287.
Therefore, depending on the access path to bda, the variable
SRC, OCL and CUT have to be adapted.
RSRCROCL and LCUT represent the same things, but
are used by C programmes. They are presently different, this depends on the
actual installation of each machine and the links between disks and directories.
LNG is the language used. The two possible values are eng
and fr.
By setting LNG to eng, most dialogs will be in english, instead
of french. Sorry for the remaining French.
DEFTYPE sets the default datatype when entering a command that
needs a datatype without argument.
EDT contains the editor to use when the work or a menu item propose
the edition of a file.
DEVICE is the kind of device used for the graphics output on the screen
PRINT contains the name of the printer device.
Both variables are used by macros and C programs.
HELPPATH is the path to the on-line help related to the
graphical user interface
MANPATH this line adds the path to BDA man pages to the usual
MANPATH.
