The SM package has a .sm initialisation file. There is an example of such a .sm file (but it is not used) in the main directory bda. The line starting with macro2 defines the path to the user's default file containing the user's macros.
Part of the database graphics is done with SM macros and these are located in the file default in the directory bda/smacro. To use the database graphics you have to indicate the right path in macro2, or to add the content of BDA default file to yours.
