Beginning of ReadMe : J/ApJ/642/861 N-band imaging of the Galactic Center (Viehmann+, 2006) ================================================================================ Dusty sources at the Galactic Center the N- and Q-band views with VISIR. Viehmann T., Eckart A., Schodel R., Pott J.-U., Moultaka J. <Astrophys. J., 642, 861-867 (2006)> =2006ApJ...642..861V ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Photometry, classification ; Photometry, infrared Keywords: Galaxy: center - infrared: stars Abstract: We present mid-infrared N- and Q-band photometry of the Galactic center from images obtained with the mid-infrared camera VISIR at the ESO VLT in 2004 May. The high resolution and sensitivity possible with VISIR enable us to investigate a total of over 60 pointlike sources, an unprecedented number for the Galactic center at these wavelengths. Combining these data with previous results at shorter wavelengths (Viehmann and coworkers, Cat. J/A+A/433/117) enables us to construct SEDs covering the H- to Q-band regions of the spectrum, i.e., 1.6-19.5mum. Description: During the commissioning of the VISIR mid-infrared imager/spectrograph at the ESO VLT (UT3, Melipal), the Galactic center was observed on 2004 May 7-11. Many narrowband filters spanning the whole N band (8-13mum), as well as the 18.7 and 19.5mum (Deltalambda=0.88 and 0.40mum) filters in the Q band, were used.
