Beginning of ReadMe : J/ApJS/194/14 A Pan-Carina YSO catalog (Povich+, 2011) ================================================================================ A Pan-Carina young stellar object catalog: intermediate-mass young stellar objects in the Carina nebula identified via mid-infrared excess emission. Povich M.S., Smith N., Majewski S.R., Getman K.V., Townsley L.K., Babler B.L., Broos P.S., Indebetouw R., Meade M.R., Robitaille T.P., Stassun K.G., Whitney B.A., Yonekura Y., Fukui Y. <Astrophys. J. Suppl. Ser., 194, 14 (2011)> =2011ApJS..194...14P ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: YSOs ; X-ray sources ; Photometry, infrared ; Stars, masses ; Surveys Keywords: circumstellar matter - ISM: individual objects (NGC 3372) - stars: formation - stars: luminosity function, mass function - stars: pre-main sequence - X-rays: stars Abstract: We present a catalog of 1439 young stellar objects (YSOs) spanning the 1.42deg^2^ field surveyed by the Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP), which includes the major ionizing clusters and the most active sites of ongoing star formation within the Great Nebula in Carina. Candidate YSOs were identified via infrared (IR) excess emission from dusty circumstellar disks and envelopes, using data from the Spitzer Space Telescope (the Vela-Carina survey) and the Two-Micron All Sky Survey. We model the 1-24um IR spectral energy distributions of the YSOs to constrain physical properties. Our Pan-Carina YSO Catalog (PCYC) is dominated by intermediate-mass (2M_sun_<m< 10M_sun_) objects with disks, including Herbig Ae/Be stars and their less evolved progenitors. The PCYC provides a valuable complementary data set to the CCCP X-ray source catalogs, identifying 1029 YSOs in Carina with no X-ray detection. We also catalog 410 YSOs with X-ray counterparts, including 62 candidate protostars. Extrapolating over the stellar initial mass function scaled to the PCYC population, we predict a total population of >2x10^4^ YSOs and a present-day star formation rate (SFR) of >0.008M_sun_/yr. The global SFR in the Carina Nebula, averaged over the past  5Myr, has been approximately constant. Description: The CCCP catalog (Broos et al., 2011, Cat. J/ApJS/194/2) contains over 14000 point sources detected by the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS) of the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Broos et al. matched the Vela-Carina Archive to the CCCP X-ray catalog and found 6543 counterparts to CCCP sources. The Vela-Carina Catalog is a subset of the Archive and provides mid-IR counterparts for 4664 CCCP sources. The Carina Nebula was observed with Spitzer/MIPS during 2007 July as part of program GO-30848 (MIPSCAR; PI: N. Smith). The Vela-Carina survey (Spitzer Proposal ID 40791, PI: S. R. Majewski) was modeled after the Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE; Benjamin et al. 2003PASP..115..953B).
