Beginning of ReadMe : J/MNRAS/411/705 Spectrophotometric distances of HII regions (Moises+, 2011) ================================================================================ Spectrophotometric distances to Galactic H II regions. Moises A.P., Damineli A., Figueredo E., Blum R.D., Conti P.S., Barbosa C.L. <Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc., 411, 705-760 (2011)> =2011MNRAS.411..705M ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: H II regions ; Stars, distances ; Photometry, infrared Keywords: stars: formation - H II regions - Galaxy: structure Abstract: We present a near-infrared study of the stellar content of 35 HII regions in the Galactic plane, 24 of which have been classified as giant H ii regions. We have selected these optically obscured star-forming regions from the catalogues of Russeil (2003, Cat. J/A+A/397/133), Conti & Crowther (2004MNRAS.355..899C) and Bica et al. (2003, Cat. J/A+A/404/223). In this paper, we have used the near-infrared domain J-, H- and Ks-band colour images to visually inspect the sample. Also, we have used colour-colour and colour-magnitude diagrams to indicate ionizing star candidates, as well as the presence of young stellar objects such as classical T Tauri stars and massive young stellar objects (MYSOs). We have obtained Spitzer Infrared Array Camera images for each region to help further characterize them. Spitzer and near-infrared morphology were used to place each cluster in an evolutionary phase of development. Spitzer photometry was also used to classify the MYSOs. Description: The J-band (lambda1.28um, deltalambda=0.3um), H-band (lambda1.63um, deltalambda=0.3um) and Ks-band (lambda2.19um, deltalambda=0.4um) images were obtained on the nights of 1999 May 1, 4 and 20, 2000 May 19 and 21 and 2001 July 10 and 12, at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) 4-m Blanco telescope, using the facility's infrared imager OSIRIS, which has a field of view (FOV) of 93x93arcsec^2^ and a pixel scale of 0.161arcsec/pixel. On the nights of 2005 Jult 3-6 and 11 and 2006 June 3-7, we obtained images using the facility's infrared imager ISPI (with a FOV of 10.25x10.25arcmin^2^ and a pixel scale of 0.3arcsec/pix), also at the 4-m Blanco telescope. Also, on the nights of 1998 August 28 and 29, we obtained images on the CTIO 4-m telescope using the facility's infrared imager CIRIM (with a FOV of 102x102arcsec^2^ and a pixel scale of 0.40arcsec/pix).
