Period and light curve fitting reveals a 24+/-7% contamination of SEKBO survey data by non-RRLs. This paper focuses on the region of the Virgo Stellar Stream (VSS), particularly on its extension to the south of the declination limits of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and of the Quasar Equatorial Survey Team (QUEST) RRL survey. Description: Targets were selected from a list of 2016 candidates produced by Keller et al. (2008, Cat. J/ApJ/678/851) who searched the SEKBO survey data for RRLs. The SEKBO survey was conducted on the 50" telescope at Mount Stromlo Observatory between 2000 January and 2003 January and covered a 10deg wide band following the ecliptic (1675deg^2^ of imaging data). Two filters ("blue": 455-590nm and "red": 615-775nm) were used simultaneously. Photometric observations were made with the Australian National University (ANU) 40" telescope at Siding Spring Observatory (SSO) over six six-night runs between 2006 November and 2007 October. Spectroscopic observations were made with the ANU 2.3m telescope at SSO in runs that were concurrent with those on the 40" telescope.
