As a pilot study for a larger survey, very deep images of the Chandra Deep Field South (CDFS), taken with WFI@MPG/ESO2.2m, are used to select large samples of 1070 U-band and 565 B-band dropouts with the Lyman-break method. Description: Catalogues of the U- and the B-dropouts in the CDFS including position, photometric redshifts, and photometric measurements for every object. The magnitudes are raw SExtractor Aperture (diameter of the aperture: 2xFWHM) measurements not corrected for the limiting magnitudes. Especially objects not detected in the I-band (I>26.3) may have inferior photometric redshift solutions. A photometric redshift value of -9.90 corresponds to an object for which no reasonable solution could be found by the photometric redshift code.
