Astrophys. 483, 209 (2008)> =2008A&A...483..209Y ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Clusters, open ; Stars, pre-main sequence ; Photometry, UBVRI ; Photometry, H-alpha ; Photometry, infrared Keywords: stars: formation - stars: pre-main sequence - ISM: HII regions - ISM: dust, extinction - ISM: individual objects: IRAS 07141-0920 - ISM: individual objects: Sh2-294 (S294) Abstract: High-resolution optical UBVRI and Halpha images obtained with ALFOSC mounted on the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT), near-infrared JHK_S_ images obtained with NOTCam at the Nordic Optical Telescope, and VLT/ISAAC images obtained through the H_2_ (2.12mum) filter were all used to make photometric and morphological studies of the point sources and the nebula seen towards Sh2-294. Identification of PMS members was done using three different methods: comparison with isochrones in optical colour-magnitude diagrams and detection of either near-IR excess or Halpha emission. Description: We report the properties of a new young double stellar cluster in the region towards IRAS 07141-0920 contained in the HII region Sh2-294. High-resolution optical UBVRI and Halpha images, near-infrared JHKs and H_2_ filter images were used to make photometric and morphological studies of the point sources and the nebula seen towards Sh2-294. This Table contains the optical and near-IR photometry of the point sources found in this region, detected in at least one of our U, B, V, R, I, and Halpha images.
