Beginning of ReadMe : J/A+A/398/239 RI differential photometry of CU Cnc (Ribas, 2003) ================================================================================ The 0.4-M_sun_ eclipsing binary CU Cnc: Absolute dimensions, comparison with evolutionary models and possible evidence for a circumstellar dust disk. Ribas I. <Astron. Astrophys. 398, 239 (2003)> =2003A&A...398..239R ================================================================================ ADC_Keywords: Binaries, eclipsing ; Photometry, RI Keywords: binaries: eclipsing - binaries: spectroscopic - stars: low-mass, brown dwarfs - stars: fundamental parameters - stars: individual (CU Cnc) - planetary systems: protoplanetary disks Abstract: Photometric observations in the R and I bands of the detached M-type double-lined eclipsing binary CU Cnc have been acquired and analysed. The photometric elements obtained from the analysis of the light curves have been combined with an existing spectroscopic solution to yield high-precision (errors<2%) absolute dimensions: M_A_=0.4333+/-0.0017M_sun_, M_B_=0.3980+/-0.0014M_sun_, R_A_=0.4317+/-0.0052R_sun_, and R_B_=0.3908+/-0.0094R_sun_. The mean effective temperature of the system has been estimated to be Teff=3140+/-150K by comparing multi-band photometry with synthetic colors computed from model atmospheres. Additionally, we have been able to obtain an estimate for the age ( 320Myr) and chemical composition ([Fe/H] 0.0) of the binary system through its membership of the Castor moving group. Description: R and I photoelectric photometry of the CU Cnc eclipsing binary system. For each measurement heliocentric Julian Date, orbital phase and differential magnitudes are given. The orbital phases are referred to the following ephemeris: T(MinI)=HJD2450208.5068+2.771468E and the differential photometry is relative to the star HD 72093.
