The galaxies were selected on Schmidt CCD images in B and Halpha in combination with SDSS images. The survey field roughly covers the virial radius of the cluster. The galaxy sample is used for analysing cluster properties, such as radial profiles, indications of sub-structure, virial mass, and viral radius and is applied for a study of the cluster galaxy population with an emphasis on morphological types and peculiarities, star formation rates and active galactic nuclei. Description: We present a catalogue of 1294 galaxies. Morphological information was obtained for 90% of the galaxies from the 'eyeball' inspection, partly supported by the surface brightness profile analysis. Redshifts were taken from SDSS, literature sources, and own spectroscopic observations and are available for 24% of the catalogues galaxies. The catalogue is augmented with multi-frequency photometric data from several surveys (SDSS, 2MASS, WISE, NVSS, and XMM), stellar masses and star formation rates derived from calibrated scaling relations, and activity indicators based on spectroscopic and photometric data. We present optical low-resolution spectra of 42 galaxies without SDSS spectroscopy in the Perseus cluster field. The observations were performed either with the faint object spectrograph in the Nasmyth focus of the Tautenburg 2m telescope or with the focal reducer camera CAFOS at the 2.2m telescope of the Centro Astronomico Hispano-Aleman (CAHA) at the Calar Alto observatory. The spectra were corrected for telluric emission lines, but not for absorption bands. Atmospheric reddening is roughly corrected, but the spectra were not flux calibrated. For two galaxies (J031646.7+400013 and J032422.8+404719), two spectra of different resolution and wavelength coverage are presented in each case.
