Note (1): Remarks are as follows: CEPH = Cepheid. The mean velocity is then provided. DBL, TRI, QUAD, QUIN, MUL = double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, multiple star respectively DE = double a eclipse (eclipsing binary) DS = double spectroscopique (spectroscopic binary) EM = emission; only when the radial velocity is computed from emission lines. ORB = orbit ; the radial velocity of the system is then provided. STND = IAU standard star; this includes the list proposed by Evans for the Southern Hemisphere (Trans. 13th IAU Gen. Assembly Praha, Comm. 30, XIIIB, 168 (1967)) VAR = variable radial velocity, according to the author. Historical Notes: *22-Jun-1992: a few corrections were performed on the original edition, mainly realignements of a few records. *08-Jul-1994 (version A): re-aligned over 200 records, and moved the uncertainty flags into dedicated columns; standardized this document.
