ADC_Keywords: Photometry, infrared ; Galaxies, IR ; Infrared sources ; Surveys Keywords: catalogs - infrared: general - surveys Abstract: We have imaged an 11.5deg2 region of sky toward the South Ecliptic Pole (SEP; J0443-5340) at 24 and 70um with MIPS, the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer. This region is coincident with a field mapped at longer wavelengths by AKARI and BLAST. We discuss our data reduction and source extraction procedures. The median 1σ depths of the maps are 47uJy/beam at 24um and 4.3mJy/beam at 70um. At 24um, we identify 93098 point sources with signal-to-noise ratio (S/N)≥5 and an additional 63 resolved galaxies; at 70um we identify 891 point sources with S/N≥6. From simulations, we determine a false detection rate of 1.8% (1.1%) for the 24um (70um) catalog. The 24 and 70um point-source catalogs are 80% complete at 230uJy and 11mJy, respectively. Note (1): Comment as follows: S = source is a known star; D = source was passively deblended, i.e. simultaneously fit along with neighboring sources (listed consecutively in the table, having the same reduced χ2); P = source may actually be part of the Point Response Fonction (PRF) feature of a nearby bright source, a bright latent artifact, or be poorly fit due to its proximity to a bright source, as described in section 4.1.

Upper limits (5σ) are listed for sources not in the 70um point-source catalog. For sources with no 70um flux listed, the source lies outside of the coverage region of that map.
