The X-ray binary population in M33. I. Source list and luminosity function. Grimm H.-J., Mcdowell J., Zezas A., Kim D.-W., Fabbiano G. <Astrophys. J. Suppl. Ser., 161, 271-303 (2005)> =2005ApJS..161..271G
ADC_Keywords: X-ray sources ; Binaries, X-ray ; Galaxies, nearby Keywords: galaxies: individual (M33, NGC 598) Abstract: In this paper we present the source list for three Chandra observations of the Local Group galaxy M33. The observations are centered on the nucleus and on the star-forming region NGC 604. We detect a total of 261 sources in an area of 0.2°2 down to a flux limit of 3x10-16ergs/s/cm2, which corresponds to a luminosity of 2x1034ergs/s at a distance of 840kpc. File Summary:

Note (1): The nucleus; because of pileup, counts and flux are not true values. Note (2): Most probable value, for details see Sec. 2. Note (3): For sources with more than 100 counts, luminosity was computed from spectral fit, otherwise Γ=2 and NH=6e+20cm-2 are assumed.

History: * 26-Jun-2006: From electronic version of the journal * 24-Dec-2006: Several CXOU numbers were corrected in table4 and table5 (differed be a few arcsec from the CXOU number in table1) * 31-May-2007: the designations originally called "CXO" were corrected to CXOU according to the Chandra conventions.
