ADC_Keywords: QSOs ; Redshifts ; Equivalent widths ; Spectra, ultraviolet ; X-ray sources ; Active gal. nuclei ; Line Profiles Keywords: quasars: emission lines Abstract: We use UV/optical and X-ray observations of 272 radio-quiet Type 1 active galactic nuclei and quasars to investigate the CIV Baldwin Effect (BEff). The UV/optical spectra are drawn from the Hubble Space Telescope, International Ultraviolet Explorer and Sloan Digital Sky Survey archives. The X-ray spectra are from the Chandra and XMM-Newton archives. We apply correlation and partial-correlation analyses to the equivalent widths (EWs), continuum monochromatic luminosities, and αox, which characterizes the relative X-ray to UV brightness. The EW of the CIVλ1549 emission line is correlated with both αox and luminosity. In our sample, narrow Fe Kα 6.4keV emission lines are detected in 50 objects. File Summary:

Note (1): The "combined sample" of quasar in our study is drawn from three sources, with spectra from SDSS (189), HST (47), and IUE (36): * 50 objects from Jiang et al. (2006ApJ...644..725J), referred as "Sample A" * 98 objects from Gibson et al. 2008 (Cat. J/ApJ/685/773), referred as "Sample B"; * 124 objects from Just et al. (2007ApJ...665.1004J), referred as "Sample C".
