J/ApJ/661/L155 Radial velocities RGB stars in omega Cen (Pancino+, 2007)

The rotation of subpopulations in ω Centauri. Pancino E., Galfo A., Ferraro F.R., Bellazzini M. <Astrophys. J., 661, L155-L158 (2007)> =2007ApJ...661L.155P
ADC_Keywords: Clusters, globular ; Stars, giant ; Radial velocities Keywords: globular clusters: individual (NGC 5139) - techniques: radial velocities Abstract: We present the first result of the Ital-FLAMES survey of red giant branch (RGB) stars in omega Cen. Radial velocities with a precision of ∼0.5km/s are presented for 650 members of omega Cen observed with FLAMES-GIRAFFE at the Very Large Telescope. Description: Observations were done with FLAMES at the ESO VLT in Paranal, Chile, between 2003 May 22 and 28, within the Guaranteed Observing Time of the Ital-FLAMES Consortium. File Summary:

(2000ApJ...534L..83P, 2003MNRAS.345..683P) as follows: 1 = RGB-MP, the most metal-poor component at [Ca/H]~-1.4. 2 = RGB-MInt, the metal intermediate component 3 = RGB-a, the extreme metal-rich component
