J/ApJ/561/727 BVI photometry in the Antennae galaxies (Zhang+, 2001)

A multiwavelength study of the young star clusters and interstellar medium in the Antennae galaxies. Zhang Q., Fall S.M., Whitmore B.C. <Astrophys. J. 561, 727 (2001)> =2001ApJ...561..727Z
ADC_Keywords: Galaxies, photometry Keywords: galaxies: individual (NGC 4038/9) - galaxies: interactions - galaxies: star clusters - stars: formation Abstract: We report on a multiwavelength study of the relationship between young star clusters in the Antennae galaxies (NGC 4038/9) and their interstellar environment, with the goal of understanding the formation and feedback effects of star clusters in merging galaxies. Note (1): Following the convention used in Whitmore & Schweizer (1995, Cat. J/AJ/109/960) and Whitmore et al. (1999AJ....118.1551W), the coordinates are the offsets from RA=12:01:52.97 and DE=-18:52:08.29 (J2000.0), near the center of NGC 4038. Note (2): The difference in V magnitudes measured in a 1-pixel and 6-pixel radius aperture, which provides a rough determination of cluster size. Objects with ΔV1-6<1.0 are likely to be cosmic rays. Note (3): Duplicated numbers are neighboring objects, generally because of differences in spatial resolution between the cycle 2 and cycle 5 observations.
