Using the star counts and the R-parameter we compute the initial helium abundance Y=0.274±0.016. Description: The data were taken from several literature sources: Lee (1977A&AS...29....1L, L77), Mandushev et al. (1997AJ....114.1060M, M97), Olech et al. (1999AJ....118..442O, O99), Pych et al. (2001A&A...367..148P, P01), and Richter et al. (1999A&A...350..476R, R99). File Summary:

Note (1): Stars classification is related to star ID: V1 to V13 = RR Lyr 1 to 268 = HB (horizontal branch) star 269 to 312 = AGB (asymptotic giant branch) 313 to 653 = RGB (red giant branch) Stars are identified in Simbad as Cl* NGC 6809 VS VNN and Cl* NGC 6809 VS NNN Note (2): The positions we tabulate are given in arcseconds from the center of the cluster (taken to be 19:39:49.40-30:47:43.5 (J2000.0)), with the x position being the RA offset and the y position being the DE offset (positive being higher RA and DE).
