ADC_Keywords: Clusters, open ; Photometry, CCD ; Photometry, uvby Keywords: open clusters and associations: individual (NGC 2420) - techniques: photometric Abstract: CCD photometry on the intermediate-band vbyCaHβ system is presented for the metal-deficient open cluster NGC 2420. Restricting the data to probable single members of the cluster using the CMD and the photometric indices alone generates a sample of 106 stars at the cluster turnoff. Description: The new photometric data for NGC 2420 were obtained using the 0.9m WIYN telescope on Kitt Peak. The S2KB detector is a 2048x2048pix CCD mounted at the f/7.5 focus of the telescope. The field size is approximately 20' on a side. We obtained frames of NGC 2420 over two six-night runs in 2003 January and 2004 January, using our own 3"x3" Hβ and Ca filters and borrowed 4"x4" y, b, and v filters from Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO). Data from five nights in 2003 and four nights in 2004 were incorporated in the analysis of NGC 2420 photometry. File Summary:
