ADC_Keywords: QSOs ; Photometry, UBVRI ; Redshifts ; Photometry, CCD Keywords: catalogs - quasars: emission lines - surveys Abstract: We present UBRI photometry and spectra for 60 quasars found within 1°2 centered on the J0053+1234 region, which has been the subject of the Caltech Faint Galaxy Redshift Survey. Candidate quasars were selected by their ultraviolet excess with respect to the stellar locus and confirmed spectroscopically. The quasars span a wide range in brightness (17.5<B<21.6) and redshift (0.43<z<2.38). Description: We used the Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) 0.9m telescope with the CCD Mosaic Wide-Field Imager to acquire UBRI observations of the 1°2 region centered on the J0053+1234 region (RA=00h53m23.2s, DE=+12°33'58") during 1998 September 30-October 2 UT, under generally good observing conditions.
