J/AJ/123/100 Redshifts of AWM and MKW poor clusters (Koranyi+, 2002)

Kinematics of AWM and MKW poor clusters. Koranyi D.M., Geller M.J. <Astron. J. 123, 100 (2002)> =2002AJ....123..100K
ADC_Keywords: Clusters, galaxy ; Redshifts ; Equivalent widths Keywords: galaxies: clusters: general - galaxies: distances and redshifts - galaxies: kinematics and dynamics Abstract: We have measured 1365 redshifts to a limiting magnitude of R∼15.5 in 15 AWM/MKW clusters and have collected another 203 from the literature in MKW 4s, MKW 2, and MKW 2s. In AWM 7 we have extended the redshift sample to R∼18 in the cluster center. We have identified 704 cluster members in 17 clusters; 201 are newly identified. We summarize the kinematics and distributions of the cluster galaxies and provide an initial discussion of substructure, mass and luminosity segregation, spectral segregation, velocity-dispersion profiles, and the relation of the central galaxy to global cluster properties. We compute optical mass estimates, which we compare with X-ray mass determinations from the literature. File Summary:

Note (1): Objects are identified as [KG2002] Note (2): Some galaxies with no measured equivalent widths are classified as Em if the quoted redshift is from an emission-line template (T,M,W), or if the galaxy is listed as having emission in (U,L). Velocity errors (e_cz) for galaxies with emission-line template velocities are boosted by 65km/s in quadrature. Note (3): Source of cz: T = FAST Spectrograph (Fabricant et al., 1998PASP..110...79F) mounted on the 1.5m Tillinghast telescope at the F. L. Note (1): The projected distance from the cD to the most distant galaxy in the region for which we measured a redshift. Conversion from degrees to h-1Mpc uses cz, hence the difference in physical search radius between MKW 7a and MKW 7b, and among MKW 2a, MKW 2b, and MKW 2s. See text for details.
