J/A+AS/125/321 RR Lyrae radial velocities and [Fe/H] II. (Solano+ 1997)

Radial velocities and iron abundances of field RR Lyraes. II. Solano E., Garrid R., Fernley J., Barnes T.G. <Astron. Astrophys. Suppl. Ser. 125, 321 (1997)> =1997A&AS..125..321S (SIMBAD/NED BibCode)
ADC_Keywords: Stars, variable ; Abundances, [Fe/H] ; Radial velocities Keywords: stars: variables - stars: abundances - stars: kinematics Abstract: This is the second of the papers devoted to derive radial velocities and iron abundances of field RR Lyraes observed by HIPPARCOS. Our abundances show good agreement with those in the literature obtained both from photometric ({DELTA}S index) and spectroscopic methods. Binary candidates and stars misclassified as RR Lyraes in the original HIPPARCOS list have been also identified. File Summary:

As discussed in the text, the uncertainty in the [Fe/H] values, both from previous work and this work, is typically ±0.13 dex.
