ADC_Keywords: QSOs ; Polarization ; Radio sources ; Morphology Keywords: galaxies: quasars: general ; polarization Abstract: For Seyfert galaxies, the AGN unification model provides a simple and well-established explanation of the type 1/type 2 dichotomy through orientation-based effects. The generalization of this unification model to the higher luminosity AGNs that quasars are remains a key question. The recent detection of type 2 radio-quiet quasars seems to support such an extension. We propose a further test of this scenario. On the basis of a compilation of quasar host-galaxy position angles consisting of previously published data and of new measurements performed using HST Archive images, we investigate the possible existence of a correlation between the linear polarization position angle and the host-galaxy/extended emission position angle of quasars. Description: This table contains the measurements/compilation of host galaxy/ extended emission position angle in the visible and near-IR domain, polarimetric data, and radio axis orientation for the 135 quasars of our sample. The angles are given in degrees east of north. The table gives the spectral and the radio-loud/radio-quiet classification of each object according to the references. File Summary:

Note (1): Types as follows: RQ1 = Type1 radio-quiet quasar RQ2 = Type2 radio-quiet quasar RL1 = Type1 radio-loud quasar RL2 = Type2 radio-loud quasar (NLRG) Note (2): Axial ratio in visible domain: * we put b/a=1.01 when the quality criterion = 2, because the corresponding PA_host is not certain (see Sect.3 for more details). * no Vis or near-IR PA_host measurement is provided when quality the criterion = 3 * the b/a from Lehnert et al. (1999ApJS..123..351L) are arbitrarily set to b/a=0.9 since no b/a were provided in that paper. Note (3): Name of the HST filter/band
